Funeral services for Nellie Richards Mansell, Blodgett, Maeurer, age 77, of Cookeville will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Brown's Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8pm Friday and again Saturday from 11am until service time at funeral home. Mrs. Maeurer passed away Monday evening, May 5, 2014 at Bethesda Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Dec 14, 1936 in Prince George County, Maryland to the late Jackson Richards and May Hawkins Richards Evans. Mrs. Maeurer was a retired secretary and bookkeeper. She was formerly employed at Putnam Farm Supply. She served as and Elder and Treasurer of North Tampa Cumberland Presbyterian Church, while living in Tampa, FL. In recent years she has worked compile a family cookbook for her children as well as researching and recording Richards Family History. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Albert F. Mansell, Carl N Blodgett (Major USAF retired) and George D Maeurer (USN retired); brothers, John W. Richards, Herbert J. Richards, Joseph H. Richards, Carl Franklin Richards; sister, Betty Joyce Richards Kenner; and infant half-brother Kenneth Evans. Her family includes a daughter & son-in-law, Loretta & Jim Qualls of Algood; four sons and daughters-in-law, David & Lisa Mansell of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jimmy & Janet Mansell, of Cookeville, Eddie & Robin Mansell of Radcliff, KY, and Allen & Amy Mansell of Silver Point; along with 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Family also includes a very special daughter and friend, Faye Maeurer Lovessee & Terry Baker of Aurora, CO and stepdaughters and stepsons. Nellie is survived by brother, Jack & Shirley Richards of Dayton, OH; half-brother, Mickey Evans of Rogersville, TN; stepbrothers, Rex & Linda Evans of Blountville, TN, Glenn Evans of Rogersville, TN; and half-sisters, Thelma Ann Davis, and Darlene & Bob Palmer of Rogersville, TN; as well as several nieces and nephews; and special sister-in-laws, Edna Richards of Dayton, OH and Brenda Richards of Church Hill, TN. A very special aunt, Juno Whitby of Virginia, and an uncle Junior Hawkins of Rogersville, TN, along with a host of cousins also survive her. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Rev. Steve Thornton, Pastor of Caney Fork Baptist Church will officiate at the services. Memorial contributions can be made to Mustard Seed Ranch 4955 Kuykendall Rd Cookeville, TN 38501.
