Nancy Brittle

Nancy Pharris Brittle, born in Cookeville, Tennessee on June 21st, 1941, passed away in Nashville, Tennessee at Alive Hospice on the afternoon of August 5th, 2022. She was surrounded by her children and loving nurses. She is survived by her son, John Grafton Brittle Jr., her daughter, Laura Brittle Brewer, and her grandchildren, Olivia and Grafton Brittle, and Savannah Brewer. She was an outstanding academic scholar who graduated from Tennessee Tech University. She completed her masters in education at Middle Tennessee State University and attended Vanderbilt in their doctorate of education program. She had a love and passion for mathematics and took great pride in teaching twenty-seven years at Tennessee Preparatory School as the head of the math department. One of her greatest accomplishments was loving each of her students as if they were her own. She was passionate about her faith in Christ. She loved traveling and shows at TPAC and valued her dearly beloved friends. She enjoyed hot air balloon rides, letting the wind blow through her hair while driving her convertible corvette, walks around Radnor Lake with friends, and loved to camp with her late husband, John Grafton Brittle Sr., on Percy Priest Lake. Her fifty-nine year marriage to her beloved late husband John, was something she was extremely proud of. He was the love of her life, she could count on him, and was lost without him. She is at peace in the presence of her God and reunited with her husband. Funeral Services Wednesday at 2 pm at Christ Church (Wallace Chapel) in Nashville with Christopher Phillips officiating.
