Myrtle Lesley Carter, aged 87, of Cookeville, TN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 30, 2024, at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County.
She was born on May 5, 1936 in Jackson County to the late John and Gertrude Amanda Crabtree Boles.
Myrtle's life was defined by her dedication to her family and her passion for reading, capturing memories through pictures, and her strong faith reflected in her love for the Bible.
She attened Jackson County schools and later became a valued employee at Tubler (Hutchinson) in Livingston, where she formed enduring friendships and associations. Her work ethic and engaging personality left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Myrtle's legacy is cherished by her loving sisters, Norma Smith and Patricia Lafever; grandson, Phillip Charles; niece, Amanda Scott; nephew, Aaron Threet; and a host of other adoring nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her son, Jackie Charles; granddaughter, Brandi Charles; sister, Irma Thompson; and nephew, Brandon Threet.
Graveside services for Mrs. Carter will be held at 2pm, Thursday, May 2, at Cookeville City Cemetery.
Myrtle's memory will forever be a beacon of kindness and resilience for her family. Her radiant spirit and enduring love are etched deeply into the hearts of those she touched.
