Murphy Marie Threet

Funeral Services for Marie Murphy Threet, age 51, of Cookeville, will be Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Shipley Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service. Ms. Threet passed away Monday morning, September 1, 2014 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Murphy was born August 31, 1963 in Beach Grove, IN to Donna Ritz and the late Robert Herschel Threet. She enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles, spent time reading quietly, and loved every stray animal that came along. Ms. Threet attended Faith Fellowship Church. Murphy is survived by her mother, Donna Ritz, of DeFuniak Spring, FL; one sister, Anita Mae Parker (husband Bill) also of DeFuniak Springs, FL; and one brother, Jason Nathaniel Johnson (wife Sara Jo) of Natchez, MS. She is also survived by three nieces; Atina Marie Rushing (Josh), Malisa Ann Parker, and Joann Johnson, as well as one nephew, David Nathaniel Johnson. In addition Murphy is survived by a great-niece, Alexys Mae Rushing, and a great nephew, Jase Robert Rushing. In addition to her father, Murphy was preceded in death by her son, Cole Austin Threet. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Bro. Steril Paramore will be conducting the services.
