Ms. Mary Jane Blasius Hicks

Mary passed away at home in Cookeville, TN on January 15, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born on December 23, 1957 to Julius (deceased) and Florine Dresch. She was adopted on January 21, 1963 by Russell and Norma (Paeplow) Blasius after having lived with them since April 14, 1960. Mary was married to her surviving children’s father (Gary Ferguson) on October 23, 1976. They were later divorced. On February l4, l990 Mary and Mike Hicks were married in Toledo, Ohio. After Mike's death in 2008 she met Johnny Turner (her fianc) and they have been together since 2010. He has been her companion and caregiver for the last five years. She worked as a Home Health Care provider for a number of years while living in Tennessee and Florida. Mary is survived by parents Russell and Norma Blasius, her daughter Christie (Robbie) Beaty and her son Robert Ferguson. She is also survived by her sisters Sally (Bernie) Albert, Dianne (Dennis) Neely, Brenda Clark, Donna Tappan and brothers Tommy (Charlotte) Barker, George (Peggy) Dresch, and J.R. Dresch.
