Funeral services for Mrs. Reba Frances Palk, age 86, of Cookeville, will be held Friday, June 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Double Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, June 4, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Reba passed away Monday, June 1, 2015, at the Upper Cumberland Hospice & Palliative Care. She was born October 1, 1928 in Cookeville, TN, to the late Charlie B. Palk and Myrtle Frances Dyer Palk. Mrs. Palk was a hairdresser for many years and was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed playing cards with friends & family and was a regular at the Senior Citizen Centers where she loved the social times with her friends. Reba was a member of the Whitson Chapel Church of Christ. She is survived by two daughters, Virginia (husband Robert) Rivers of Cookeville & Deborah (husband Kerry) Hicks of Greenville, SC; four grandchildren, Dana Lynn Crouch of Cookeville, Roy B. (wife Stephanie) Crouch of Cookeville, Dr. Katherine E. Hicks of Chicago and Kirsten Hicks of Greenville, SC. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Athena (husband Daniel) Harris, Shelby Crouch, Dylan Hawkins, Dalton Crouch, Makala Crouch, Tyler Hoskins, Amber Barkley, and Kevin Hoskins. In addition, Mrs. Palk is survived by several nieces, nephews, friends & family. Reba also leaves behind two dear friends, Sue Dubree and Bill Delaney. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Christine Franklin, two brothers, Joseph and Stanley Palk, and an infant sister. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Bro. Dwight Henry will officiate the service.
