Mrs. Melinda Sue Young Adams

Funeral Services for Mrs. Melinda Sue Young Adams, age 48, of Sparta, TN will be Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in the Brotherton Cemetery. Mrs. Adams passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born November 1, 1966 in Hartford, IN to the late Jack Wilson and Patricia Walker Wilson. Linda was a wonderful caregiver who loved taking care of everyone else. She was emotionally strong, in many cases serving as the peacemaker, and was always a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife and friend. Linda loved animals, especially her goats and dogs, and ran a farm well. She was a member of the Crossroads Cathedral, and will be missed by her church family. Melinda is survived by her husband, Jackie Adams, two daughters; Rhonda Young of Cookeville and Vonda Young, of Crossville, two grandchildren; Caitlyn and Jacob Penkava, a step-son, Austin Sawyer Skaggs, a son-in-law, Brandon Penkava, and a daughter-in-law; Shellie Kirby. In addition, Mrs. Adams is survived by three sisters; Tabitha Wilson and Cricket Wilson of Cookeville, and Rebecca Pease of Florida, one brother; Jim Wilson (wife Ruth) of Crossville, and the father of her children; Larry Young. She is also survived by dear friends, Chuck and Sue Erskine, as well as many more friends and family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams is preceded in death by one sister; Tina Wilson. Pallbearers will be Brandon Penkava, Larry Young, Jackie Adams, Austin Skaggs, Jim Wilson and Saxton Lowery. Bro. Chuck Erskine and Bro. Chris Hash will be conducting the services.
