Mrs. Cadena Blanchard Walker

Funeral Services for Mrs. Cadena Blanchard Walker, age 97 of Cookeville will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in the West Cemetery. Cadena passed peacefully Friday, June 24, 2016 at Signature Health Care in Algood. She was born November 3, 1918 to the late Oral E. West and Edna Mae Peek West. She was a very genuine, sweet, & reserved lady with a bit of spunk that brought much joy to her loved ones. She loved her family and greatly enjoyed country music. Her favorite was George Jones. She enjoyed clogging and square dancing and loved to singing in church in her younger years. Cadena is survived by her daughter, Wanda (husband David) Higgs of Savannah, GA., & a son, Bob Goodwin of Cookeville. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Sheri Julian of Cookeville, Laura (Jason) Jones of Jackson, TN., and Donna Higgs Boca Raton, FL,. as well as six great -grandchildren, Braedon Julian, Hannah, Megan, and Emily Jones, Elizabeth & Zoe Robins. Also, one great-great granddaughter, Lexus Julian. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard L Walker and seven sisters and one brother. Bro: Keith Tosh will officiate the service.
