Mrs. Bona Jean Burgess

Memorial Services for Mrs. Bona Jean (Bonnie) Burgess, age 82 of Cookeville will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel Of Dyer Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Saturday evening from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Bonnie passed peacefully Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Signature Health Care in Algood. She was born May 14, 1934 in Harlan Iowa to the late Bernard Stoltz and Anna Engel Stoltz. Bonnie loved bowling, traveling & treasured going on cruises. She was a very genuine, sweet, & reserved lady. She loved her family and was recognized for putting others needs before her own needs. Bonnie was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Bonnie is survived by two daughters, Carol Burgess of Cookeville; Rochelle (husband Charles) Roulette of Cookeville; she is also survived by her two sons, Mike Burgess (finance’ Jennifer Stewart) of Woodstock, Ga., and Jim (wife Amy) Burgess of Peachtree City, Ga., five grandchildren, Erika Burgess, Austin Burgess, Alex Farris, Andrew Farris and Jake Tritt. She is also survived by two sisters, Shirley (husband Harry) Nollen of Harlan, Iowa and Linda Jacobsen also of Harlan, Iowa. Bonnie leaves behind a special & dear friend Debbie Herrin. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James Z. Burgess. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to: St. Thomas Outreach Program located at 421 N. Washington Ave. Cookeville, TN. 38501.
