Mrs. Alma Ruth Langley

Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Ruth “ Bootsie” Langley, age 85 of Byrdstown will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 5:00pm in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Family will continue to visit with friends and family following the funeral service. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. Alma passed peacefully Monday morning, May 2, 2016 at Signature Health Care center. She was born May 1, 1931 in Olive Springs TN to the late Earl Griffith and Louvetta Nichols Griffith. She was a loving, caring & solemn type lady who served the role of being a nurturing mother to many. She loved to cook and was known for her delicious gravy and biscuits. Mrs. Langley is survived by three daughters; Brenda Milligan of Hiddenite, NC., Sandra Kelly of Byrdstown, TN., and Debbie Langley of Gastonia, NC., four our sons; Richard Langley of Wartburg, TN., Daniel Langley of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., David Langley of Byrdstown and Chris Langley of Cookeville, TN. One sister Earlene Justice of Coalfield, TN. and one brother, Boyd Griffith of Laporte, IN. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death husband Harold Langley, one daughter; Barbara Craig and also by five sons; Harold Langley Jr., Dennis, Michael, Donnie, and Steve Langley. One sister; Louise Morgan and three brothers; George, Floyd, Charles, Ralph and Bobby Griffith. Bro. Timmy Ray will conduct the service.
