Mr. Ricky Wheeler

Funeral Services for Mr. Ricky Wheeler, age 56, of Cookeville, will be Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Dodson Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening, November 16, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service. Ricky passed away Sunday morning at Cookeville Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born May 10, 1959 in Carthage TN to Eugene Wheeler and the late Juanita Boyd Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler was a very compassionate man who grieved deeply at the passing of his wife, Sylvia Rodgers Wheeler and his son’s mother, Debbie Buck Wheeler, as well as his mother. He supplied his neighbors and friends with vegetables from his garden and fussed when they stole his watermelons. He gave of himself freely and could always be counted on to help whoever he could. Ricky was a faithful member of Faith Chapel. Survivors include his father; Eugene Wheeler of Cookeville, his children; Andrew Wheeler, Matthew Wheeler, Cristie (husband Jim) Taylor, Tena (husband Jerry) Lynn all of Cookeville and Tony (wife Michelle) Young of Sparta. In addition, Ricky is survived by ten grandchildren; Zoey Annette Wheeler, Kadence Henley, Jayden Alijah Wheeler, Ashley, Allison, Spencer and Savannah Young, Jana Love, Jacob James Taylor, and Sara Hammons, as well as six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a special aunt and uncle, Pope an Reba Allen, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by his mother Juanita Boyd Wheeler, his wife Sylvia Rodgers Wheeler, his son’s mother Debbie Buck Wheeler, two infant sons; Jordan and Richard Wheeler, and his grandparents; Haskell and Sadie Mae Bryant Wheeler and Toy and Brady Horton Boyd. Pallbearers will be Jack McClain, Dale Harris, Robert Lee, Justin Boles, Jerry Lynn and Ricky Allen. Bro. Steve Warren will be conducting the services.
