Funeral Services for Mr. James Keathley Willeford, age 92, of Cookeville, will be Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Dodson Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, June 12, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Mr. Willeford passed away at his home and surrounded by his loving family Wednesday, June 10, 2015. He was born June 17, 1922 in Overton County TN to the late Joseph Taylor Willeford and Mary Clementine McCormick Willeford. James was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army, and was a retired employee of McCords Inc. He was a Braves fan as long as they were winning, enjoyed tinkering with lawnmowers and enjoyed working and using his hands. James loved his family and was as devoted to his family as any man could ever be. James is survived by four children; Charles Stewart (wife Linda) of Adairsville, GA, Peggy Conner of Algood, TN, Gloria L. Meador (husband Ray) of Moreno Valley, CA, and Dana Honeycutt (husband Darris) of Cookeville. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; Jessica Phillips, Jamie Allen, Anna Kuykendall, Lori Vanpool, Rachel White, Gwen Denton (husband Rick), Ross and Raygn Denton, Heaven Honeycutt, Eden Honeycutt, and Cainan Honeycutt. Mr. Willeford is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorcus Dillon Willeford, eight brothers and sisters; Mildred Wright, Howard Willeford, Kenneth Willeford, Charles Willeford, Joanne Starns, Benny Collins Marable, Herman Willeford and Lottie Rash. Mr. Willeford was also preceded in death by an infant great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Bro. Gary West and Bro. Doug Hawkins will be officiating the services.
