Funeral Mass for Mr. Eddie King, age 95, of Cookeville, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church. Mr. King was born March 10, 1920 in Caswell Plantation, Maine to the late Paul King and Flavie Peletier King. Eddie was a veteran of WW II and was very active in the Knights of Columbus. He was a carpenter by trade, enjoyed cooking and later years watching TV. Survivors include two sons; Eddie King Jr. (wife Linnie) of Cookeville and William King (wife Mary) of Lebanon TN, as well as two daughters; Donna French of Madison ME and Linda Saker of Hartford CT. Mr. King is also survived by one sister, Meeda Clavette of Saco ME and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. King was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Jean (Betty) Girard King; children: Cristina King, Robert King, Paul King, June King, and Elizabeth king as well as five sisters and three brothers. The family has chosen cremation and Eddie's request and he will be laid to rest with his wife at the Nation Cemetery in Maine. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Saint Thomas Aquinas Church Haiti Project in memory of Eddie. Arrangements by Dyer Funeral Home of Cookeville.
