Mr. Carl Stewart

Funeral Services for Mr. Carl Stewart, age 90, of Taylor, MI, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday February 6 at Dyer Funeral Home with Bro. Sam Davis officiating. Internment with military honors will follow at West Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday 5 - 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Carl passed away January 31, 2018 at Beaumont Dearborn Hospital in Dearborn, MI. He was born November 21, 1927 in Cookeville TN. to the late Smantha and Sylvester Stewart. Carl was a highly decorated US Army Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Local Union for over 62 years. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved to spend time gardening. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Annette Stewart of Taylor MI., Kenneth and Susan Stewart of Taylor MI.; grandchildren, Jonathan (Richelle) of Detroit MI., and Christopher of Detroit MI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Julia M. Stewart; second wife, Delores “Dee” Stewart; daughter, Wanda Gail Stewart; five brothers, Ralph, Raymond, Vance, Luther, and Lloyd Stewart; and three sisters, Betty Rice, Marie Lafever, and Linnie Marie Hickey.
