Mimi Ferguson

Graveside services and interment for Mrs. Miriam "Mimi" Joan Ferguson, age 81 of Cookeville will be held on Friday January 23 at 10 a.m. (CST) at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper, TN. Rabbi Elizabeth Bahar will officiate. Mrs. Ferguson family will receive friends Thursday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. (CST) at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Mrs. Ferguson died suddenly Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at her home. She was born on May 22, 1933 to the late Edward and Edith Ida Farber Levey. As a young woman she studied art. She and her family moved to Cookeville in December of 1966 when her husband was transferred from Long Beach CA as an engineer with McDonnell Douglas Aircraft. It was her husband's dream to raise his son where he was raised-in the green forested hills of Tennessee. Mimi owned and operated the Sta-Trim and Body Shoppe Health Studios in Cookeville in the 1970s. She loved lady bugs, and gardening was her passion. She loved spoiling her son and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Williams "Bill" Ferguson; and brother, Marvin Levey. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Nancy Ferguson of Huntsville, AL; four grandchildren, Jesse J. Ferguson of Hermitage Springs, TN, J. Matthew Ferguson and his wife, Cara of Grant, AL, Byron Williams Ferguson IV of Denver, CO, and Miriam Alexandra Ferguson of Huntsville, AL; two great grandsons, Peyton James Ferguson and Jonathan C. Ferguson; and sister, Sylvia Levey Newbury of Monouth, New Jersey.
