Mildred V. Oyston

Mildred V. Oyston, age 90, of Cookeville, died on Sunday, April 4, 2010 in Birmingham Alabama. Her husband, William Oyston, and her granddaughter, Catie Stubben, preceded her in death. Mildred served her country in World War II as a Riveter on the B-17 Bomber, known as The Flying Fortress. She is survived by one daughter, Jacqueline Dunn (husband Danny) of Bristol TN and three sons; William (wife Martha) of Birmingham, Mark (wife Cris) of Nashville, and Bruce (wife Deborah), of Cookeville, as well as one sister, Lois Brown of Livingston. She also has 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 12:00 o’clock noon, followed by the burial at the Speck Three Forks Cemetery in Overton County. A viewing will be held at the Church on Saturday, April 10 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thank-you to the staff of New Beacon Hospice for their compassionate and steadfast care.
