Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Lucy Pinkston, 90, of Cookeville will be held Friday, April 20 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Bros. Ronnie Cobb and Joe Roberts will officiate. Mrs. Pinkston died Tuesday afternoon, April 17, 2012, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Pinkston was born December 25, 1921, in Putnam County, Tennessee to Fred Miller and Lola Rachel Whitson Dyer. She was a homemaker and member of Collegeside Church of Christ. She was a long-time member of the Pippin Church of Christ until the death of her husband in 1993. She enjoyed gardening, needlework, fishing, and cooking. She was a loving mother and mother-in-law and was a devoted and dear friend to all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Pinkston whom she married May 1, 1942, and two sisters, Myrtle Rice and Gertrude Griffith. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Fay & Jackie Borden of Cookeville and several nieces. Active pallbearers will be Monte Gaw, Phil Hall, Danny Lesko, Randy Kidd, Eddy Locke, Larry Sparks and Fred Ragland. Honorary pallbearers will be Martin Migliore, Bob Farris, Bob Birdwell, Max Johnson, Oscar Gaw, Mike Palk, and Roger Johnson. Mrs. Pinkston"�s family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Care Fund, Cookeville Regional Medical Center Foundation, 1 Medical Center Blvd., Cookeville, TN 38501.
