Mildred Morgan

Mrs. Mildred Faye Morgan, age 73 of Cookeville, died Tuesday May 12, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born April 23, 1947 in Cookeville to the late Charles and Thelma "Christine" McNeal. She was a graduate of the former Algood High School. Mildred was employed at Cookeville Regional Medical Center where she worked as a unit secretary in Labor & Delivery department. Her gentle and tender hearted nature were a perfect fit for the job she held at the hospital for 42 years until her retirement in 2007. She enjoyed quilting and cross stitching. She was a longtime and faithful member of Caney Fork Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Harlon "Junior" Morgan; and by sister-in-law, Patricia McNeal. She is survived by her son, Shane Morgan; daughter, Sherry Morgan; brothers and sister-in-law, Tom McNeal and Harvey and Kelley McNeal, all of Cookeville; and by several nieces and nephews. Tyler McNeal, Jason McNeal, Brian McNeal , Jeremy Morgan, Casey Morgan and Wayne Gore will serve as pallbearers. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, friends are invited to come by the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home to sign the guest book and pay their respects on Sunday, May 17 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. as Mildred's family will be present. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. with limited seating for friends and family and social distance measures in place. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Bros.
