Mildred Brooks

Funeral services for Mildred Brooks, age 93, of Cookeville, will be at 3 p.m. Monday October 15 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Her sons, Joe and Jimmy Brooks and Pastor Mark Gaw will officiate. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 12 p.m. until service time. Mrs. Brooks passed away Thursday evening October 11, 2018 at Bethesda Health Care Center. She was born August 29, 1925 in Greenfield, TN to the late Arthur and Euna Dodson Danner. Mrs. Brooks was a homemaker and member of Bangham Heights Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Jim (Helen) Brooks and Joe (Lisa) Brooks, all of Cleveland, TN; two daughters, Diane (Virgil) Moore of Franklin, KY, and Kathy (Bob) Raymer of Cookeville; nine grandchildren, Leann Brooks, Michelle Banther, David (Stephanie) Brooks, Danny (Lisa) Brooks, Traci Johnson, Chris Johnson (fiance, Abby Cross), Jason Whittaker, Kyle Brooks (fiance, Nikki Lewis), and Graham Brooks; and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Brooks; four brothers, Lee, Horace, Grady, and Ray Danner; and an infant sister, Virginia May Danner. Mrs. Brooks grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
