BAXTER-Funeral services for Michele Ann Burgess, 54 of Baxter will be Sunday, November 25 at 1 PM from the Baxter chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Smellage Memory Gardens in the Boma Community. Bro. Herb Leftwich and Bro. Allen Martin will officiate. Michele died Thursday, November 22, 2018 in Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was born July 20, 1964 in Dearborn, Michigan to Frankie Owen of Baxter and the late John Liggett. She was a 1982 graduate of Upperman High School in Baxter. Michele was a dedicated sports mom, she enjoyed working in her garden and canning. She enjoyed making lasagna for all to enjoy. She loved being with family and friends, especially the grandchildren. Survivors include husband of 31 years (Married March 31, 1987) JD Burgess daughters Casey Burgess and Monty Mitchell and Ashley Burgess and John Ramsey all of Baxter, sons Jordan (Jennifer) Burgess of Sparta and Joshua Burgess and other child Ashley Clemons of Baxter, grandchildren: Lige and Doodles, best friends Kristie Young and Kelly Corbin. Family will receive friends Saturday from 3 to 8 PM and after 7 AM Sunday at the funeral home. Active Pallbearers will be John Ramsey, Monty Mitchell, Scott Pulley, Chris Young, Brian Corbin, Jimmy Watts, Bobby Pippin and David Young. Honorary Pallbearer will be Lige.
