Michael Silvey

Michael Vincent Silvey, age 37, of Cookeville, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019. He was a loving father, husband, son, brother, and friend, and he will be sorely missed. Private services will be scheduled at a later date. Michael was born in Cookeville, TN on March 16, 1982 to the late Terry Lee Silvey and Carol Silvey Wilson of Knoxville. He graduated from Cookeville High School in 2000 and attended Tennessee Tech University. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from TTU in 2005. Michael formerly worked for Denso Manufacturing in Maryville. He later returned with his family to Cookeville, where he went to work for J. Cumby Construction and was named VP of Operations and Safety. Survivors include his wife, Merve Silvey, whom he married Jan. 1, 2006 in Cookeville; son, Isaac Silvey; mother, Carol Wilson (Johnny) of Knoxville; brother, Matt (Michelle) Silvey of Cookeville; and sister, Katherine (Jon) Sides of Louisville, KY. Michael was generous, always giving freely of himself and his resources when needed. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to the charity of your choice.
