Michael Lee

Memorial service for Michael Dean Lee, 69 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, October 30 at 1 PM at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Jimmy Simpson will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 AM until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Lee died Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at NHC of Cookeville. He was born August 29, 1952 in Cookeville to the late Billy and Ruth Short Lee. Michael was a 1970 graduate of Cookeville High School and a 1975 graduate of Tennessee Tech University with a degree in History. He had served as a substitute teacher in the Putnam County School system, worked at Pate's Motorcyle Shop in Chattanooga and Mid-State Kawasaki of Cookeville. He was owner-operator of a lawn care/small engine repair shop. Michael loved to read, especially about history and was a stand-up comedian. He enjoyed NASCAR races and riding motorcycles. He attended West View Baptist Church. Survivors include wife of 41 years(Married June 2, 1980) Heather Hogan Lee of Cookeville, daughter Danielle (Francis) Tommaso of Cookeville, son Kyle (Allie) Lee of Knoxville, grandchildren: Veronica Lee, Sidney Shaffer and Tegan Tommaso.
