Michael Grider

BAXTER CHAPEL-Michael "MIKE" Grider, 51 was born May 10, 1973 in Cookeville and died suddenly February 3, 2025 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

He attended Upperman High School in Baxter. He was a carpenter by trade and worked building homes in the Upper Cumberland Area with different companies.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Grider, brother-in-law Joe Smith, grandparents: Carl and Wanda Winchester Burton.

Mike was an avid golfer and enjoyed drag racing.

Survivors include his mother Carol Burton Cooper of Baxter, sister Michelle Smith of Cookeville, brother Matthew (Joelle) Cooper of Baxter, nieces and nephews: Kaylee Smith, Elizabeth Cooper and Edward Cooper, a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be Saturday, February 8 at 1 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home interment will follow in the Winchester Cemetery in Putnam County. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 AM until service time at the funeral home. Bro. Seth Presley will officiate.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the funeral expenses.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
