Funeral services for Mayme Jo Hicks, 65, of Cookeville will be held Tuesday, February 26, at 11 a.m. from the Algood Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Algood City Cemetery. Mrs. Hicks died Sunday morning at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born September 21, 1947 in Jackson County, TN to the late Estel and Dorothy Gentry Chaffin. Mrs. Hicks retired from the Identity Group in 2009 after many years of service. She was a member of the Algood United Methodist Church. She and her husband were car enthusiasts and enjoyed going to antique car shows. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jamie Lee Hicks and a sister and brother-in-law, Georgia and Bobby Allen. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Tracey and Kenny Slaughter and Amy Hicks and fiancé, Jack Elrod all of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Jamie West, Taylor Slaughter and Austin Elrod all of Cookeville. Honorary pallbearers will be special friends, Margaret Ferrell, Mickie Howard, Sandy Bathke, and Betty Neal. Active pallbearers will be Bob Kelsey, Gary Gibson, Ray Ferrell, Patrick Campbell, Randy Herron, Paul Bathke, and Glenn Howard. Mrs. Hicks"� family will receive friends Monday from 5 until 8 pm and Tuesday, from 9 am until service time at the Algood Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home.
