Funeral Services for May Briscoe Reinbold, 78 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, October 18th at 11 a.m. at the Cookeville First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Pat Handlson will officiate and interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and again Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Mrs. Reinbold died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at her residence. She was surrounded by friends and loved ones. She was born July 26, 1936 in Carrollton, Mississippi to the late Daniel Briscoe III and Alma Ruscoe Briscoe. Mrs. Reinbold raised four children throughout the family's moves from Tennessee to Colorado, Texas, and Nevada. A graduate of UT Knoxville, she worked as a librarian and computer teacher in elementary schools in Colorado and Nevada. For several years Mrs. Reinbold worked in the summer with the Camp Country Lad team Since returning to Cookeville fifteen years ago, she has been a member of Cookeville First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Reinbold was an elder and a deacon at the Presbyterian Church. In addition, she volunteered at Helping Hands, Cookeville Visitor's Center, and the gift shop at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Reinbold was a Master Gardner and member of Cookeville FCE. She enjoyed national and international travel visiting Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Great Britain. She cared for children and animals throughout her life, donating to various organizations. Her pride and joy were her seven grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Reinbold; and by daughter, Kimberly Lynn Reinbold. Her family includes two daughters, Cynthia (J.T) Reinbold Blackledge of Morehead, KY and Mary Elizabeth (Marc) Reinbold Schepman of San Jose, CA; son, Stewart Grover Reinbold of Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren, Ava Jillian Reinbold Blackledge, Emma Camille Reinbold Blackledge, Parker Cole Reinbold Schepman, Cooper Briscoe Reinbold Schepman, Petal May Reinbold, Finn Michael Reinbold and Sawyer Gray Reinbold; three sisters, Sarah (Joe) Hanlon of Fort Myers, FL, Charlotte Scruggs and Laurie Porterfield both of Maryville, TN. Pallbearers will include family Stewart Reinbold (son), Marc Schepman (son-in-law), and J.T. Blackledge (son-in-law) as well as friends Eliseo Rios, John McGee, and Drue Huffines.
