Maxine Mayberry

BAXTER-Funeral services for Mary Maxine Mayberry, 82 of Buffalo Valley, will be Wednesday, June 29 at 1 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Young Cemetery in the Center Grove Community of Jackson County, Tennessee. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM and after 10 AM Wednesday until service time. Bishop Dereck Heap will officiate. Mrs. Mayberry died Saturday morning, June 25, 2022 at Mabry Healthcare & Rehab in Gainesboro. She was born June 6, 1940 in Sparta to the late James and Bertha Williams Lafever. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,George Lee Mayberry on November 29, 2013, daughter and son-in-law Loretta and Wayne Clayton, son Harold Mayberry, sister Elise Petty, brother Lawrence Lafever. She was a homemaker and member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Cookeville. Maxine enjoyed genealogy, working in her flowers and garden. Survivors include daughters Connie (Rick) Sutton, Doris McBroom all of Buffalo Valley, sons Gary Mayberry of Bloomington Springs, Roger (Heidi) Mayberry of Monterey, grandchildren: Regina Shivley, Melissa Fields, Karen Kendall, Tiffany Mayberry, Chris Clayton, Michael Clayton, Misty Ward, Kristi McBroom, Josh Mayberry, Candace Nance, Mandy Mayberry, Justin Mayberry, Jennifer Tillman, Nicholas (Ashley) Mayberry, Keshia Mayberry and Logan Mayberry, great-grandchildren: Joseph Shivley, Emily Shivley, Montana Blake, Maria and Amanda Johnson, Haley (Williams) Gore, Payton Williams, Sabrina Mayberry, Mila Clayton, Gavin Clayton, Trinton Smith, Creed Clayton, Aubrie Smith, Calli and Kaylee Clayton, Hunter, Koda and Bailey Ward, Gracie Hensley, Elleigh and Cooper Rickles, Salem Mayberry, Noah, Odin, Braiden and Jerick Nance, Madison and Kenzi Mullin, Aaden Mayberry, Aalexis Vaughn, Jaxon Hatcher and Adalyn Mayberry, great-great grandchildren: Bradley and Ensley Blake, Arabella and Kalista Hale.
