She was a beloved, retired caregiver. She loved God, her husband and her children. Mrs. Byrd is best remembered for the joy she brought to anyone who was privileged to know her. The Christian kindness that she showed daily and her sense of humor made it a pleasure to be in her company. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death byher husband, Payton Tyson Byrd; one sister, Ruby Nelson; and three brothers, Arthur, Junior (Jim) and Leo (Bill) Taylor. She is survived by seven children, Jimmy Byrd, Gary Byrd, both of Detroit MI, Sandra Kohler of Cookeville, Richard Byrd of Nashville, Michael Byrd of Charlotte NC, Janie Mcfarland of Bowling Green, KY and Joseph Byrd of Orlando FL; three sisters, Ethel LaLone, Irene Nelson both of Cookeville, and Willowdean Baltimore of Port Charlotte, FL; twenty-six grand-children, and twenty-one great-grand children. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. She lived her life as unto God. All who know she will say that she truly was a perfect example of Gods unconditional love. In addition to raising seven children, all successfully in their own way, she cared for elderly people in their homes until the lord called them home. She cared and loved her charges as if they were her own.
