Mary Wild

Mary P Wild, age 92, of Martin, TN and formerly of Chattanooga, TN passed away Saturday March 2, 2019 at her home in Martin. Mary was born November 20, 1926 in Cookeville to the late Walter and Hattie Greenwood Phillips. She graduated from Tennessee Polytechnic Institute (TTU) and was retired clerk with the State of Tennessee. She formerly worked for Lanham Bible Bookstore in Chattanooga. Mary was of the Presbyterian faith. She is survived by her son, John Jr. (Kathy) Wild of Martin; granddaughter, Haley (Calvin) Hamilton of Ft. Payne, AL; step granddaughter, Trussia (Sanford) Montgomery of Gadsden, AL; three great-grandchildren, Wesley, Weston, and Katie Hamilton; two nieces, Carol "Sissy" Day of Valdese, NC and Mary (John) Puryear of Macon. GA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Ann Wild Morris; sister, Betty (John) Day; daughter-in-law, Deb Chumney Wild; and father of her children, John Wild Sr. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday March 4 at Phillips Cemetery. Pastor Ron Allen will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the cemetery. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
