Mary Skimmiehorn

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Skimmiehorn, 75 of Crossville and formerly of Cookeville, will be held Saturday May 3 at 1 p. m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Paul Fox will officiate. Interment will follow in Skimmiehorn Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Skimmiehorn died Monday April 28, 2014 in Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. She was born October 11, 1938 in Sumner County, Tennessee to the late John and Lerlie B. Gregory Wesley. Mrs. Skimmiehorn was a member of the Bloomington Springs Church of Christ. She was a factory worker at the GE Plant in Hendersonville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Charles Roy Skimmiehorn (who died September 25, 2005); two brothers, Robert Ragland and Bill Ragland; and by three sisters, Margaret Carter, Barbara Jean Sullivan, and Minnie Thomas. Survivors include two sisters, Florence Marie (Roy) Philpot of Portland, TN, Betty Stafford of Hohlenwald, TN; and brother, JC Ragland of White House, TN. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
