Mary Nell Shores

Mary Nell Herren Shores, age 83, of Baxter, passed away Saturday evening April 4, 2020 at her home. She was born September 26, 1936 in Putnam County, TN to the late Howard and Lennie Carr Herren. Mrs. Shores was a life long member of Herren's Chapel Church of Christ. She and her late husband operated Loyd Shores Trucking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Shores; and two brothers, Ronnie and Bud Herren. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Jerry Townsend of Baxter, son and daughter-in-law, David and Tenia Shores of Silver Point, sisters and brother-in-law, Jan and Bob Burton, Judy Harris all of Silver Point; grandchildren, Crissy LeAnn (Daniel) Robbins of Baxter, Melanie Shores and Wesley Shores of Silver Point, Valerie (Tyler) Overstreet of Alexandria, Keshia (Billy) Wood of Carthage, Devin, Cody and Tanner Townsend all of Peru, IN, great-grandchildren: Moriah, Joshua and Malachi Robbins, Ayden and Easton Wood, and Greysen Overstreet. Private services will be held Tuesday April 7. Burial will be at G. V. Herren Cemetery. Baxter chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (931)858-2134.
