Mary Lois Roberson

RICKMAN, TN-Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lois Roberson, age 83 of Rickman, will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Netherland Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Netherland Cemetery. Bro. Mark Loftis will officiate.

Her family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 pm until service time at the church.

Mrs. Roberson died Monday October 30, 2023 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was born May 2, 1940 in Pickett County, TN to the late Arthur and Leta Jones Sells.

Mary Lois Roberson was a loving devoted wife for 65 years to her high school sweetheart Bobby Roberson, both of Rickman. The couple met while in school at Rickman High School. After a few years of starting their life together and starting their family in Cookeville, Lois and Bob eventually settled in Rickman when they purchased Lois’ childhood farm in the mid 1970’s. On the farm, they raised their two children Bryan Roberson and Beth Ann Davidson along with crops of tobacco and cattle. Lois and Bob were active members at nearby Netherland Church of Christ for about 50 years. Her faith in God was a critical part of her daily life.

For most of her 39-year career Lois worked in financial lending for the farming community. After retirement she enjoyed helping with church activities, travel, University of Tennessee sports, but most of all being “Granny” to Dawson and Porter Davidson. Like her mother before her, Lois loved to cook and feed people, it was her language of love. Her chocolate pies will surely be missed. Lois was a source of love and light to many.

Lois is survived by her husband Bob Roberson, son Bryan Roberson and partner Rodney Pickett of Nashville, and daughter Beth Ann Davidson and husband Rocky Davidson of Cookeville with their sons Dawson Davidson and Porter Davidson, two sisters Jane Gaw and Margie Robbins, both of Livingston and a sister-in-law Betty Smith of Cookeville along with several beloved nieces and nephews.

Chad Richardson, Chris Smith, Michael Robbins, Stephen Robbins, Greg Cupp, Donnie Holman will serve as pallbearers.
