Mary Jane Stoddart

Mary Jane Stoddart, 90, homemaker, devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, former resident of Miami, FL, passed away Friday, January 22, 2015 in Cookeville, TN. She was born February 18, 1924 in Trenton, NJ to the late Charles K. and Anna Belle Reeger Houck. She will be fondly remembered as a great lady. She often got her way and never complained. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, her heritage includes her husband of 60 years, John Murray Stoddart, Sr. (who preceded her in death April 17, 2006 in Brentwood, TN). Her legacy includes her son, John M. "Hippie Jack" Stoddart, Jr. and wife Lynne of Crawford; daughter, Sally Anne Hayes of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Avery Owens of Cookeville, Jason (Beth) Stoddart, Silas (Erica) Stoddart, both of Crawford, and Jessica (John) Ladd of Asheville, NC; four great grandchildren; and her brother, Eddie (Carol) Nitzsche of Hiwassee, GA. A private family memorial service will be held on the family farm. If so inclined, in lieu of flowers, make memorial contributions to the Counsel of Americana Roots Music Food Drive, 642 Shiloh Rd., Crawford, TN 38544 in her memory.
