Cookeville Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Johnson Thaxton Hall, age 76, of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 26 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Bro. John Murphy and Bro. Brice Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. and again Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Mrs. Hall passed away suddenly Wednesday June 21, 2017 at her home. She was born January 21, 1941 in Putnam County, TN to the late Arthur Middleton Johnson and Henrietta Johnson. Mrs. Hall graduated from TTU in 1963 with a Bachelor's degree in Education. She was a retired educator with Putnam County School System with over 27 years of service at Sycamore and Northeast Schools. She attended Cookeville First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Hall; and an infant sister. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Charles Dennis of Cookeville; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Pam Thaxton of Henderson, NV; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Sandra Johnson of Cookeville; sister, Lenora Hester of Manitowoc, WI; and three grandchildren, Thomas Ferree, Tyler Ferree, and Katie Swafford. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Care Fund, CRMC Foundation, 1 Medical Center Blvd. Cookeville, TN 38501.
