Mary Anna Allen

ALGOOD-Funeral services for Ms. Mary Anna Allen, age 78 of Algood, will be held Sunday, February 12th at 2:00p.m. at Algood Church of Christ. Bro. John Chowning will officiate. Interment will follow in Algood City Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30pm until service time at the Algood Church of Christ.

Ms. Allen died Sunday February 5, 2023 at Bailey Manor in Cookeville.

She was born June 10, 1944 in Jackson County, TN to the late Charlie Allen and Estelle Mabry Allen.

Mary Anna was a 1964 graduate of the former Algood High School. She was a longtime associate at Fleetguard, working in their accounting department until retirement. She was a lifetime member of the Algood Church of Christ and taught Sunday school at the church for over 40 years.

She was independent, loving and devoted to her family. She enjoyed time spent outside and enjoyed working with her hands cross stitching.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Shirrel Allen and Bob Allen.

She is survived by adoring family, her sister, Dian Batey and husband, Jim of Fayetteville, TN; brothers, Charley "Lewis" Allen and wife Pat and Rellon Allen and wife Hazel, all of Cookeville; sister in law, Brenda Gore Allen; and by a host of nieces and nephews.

Robert Allen, Charles Batey, Jeff Allen, Ben Batey, William Batey and David Allen will serve as pallbearers.
