Marvin Hendricks

Funeral services for Bro. Marvin Harold Hendricks, age 74 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 3 p.m.in the Chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, TN. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. Elder Floyd Ferguson and Elder Terry Austin will officiate. Marvin's family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Wednesday from 12 noon until service time at Phillip Anderson Funeral Home. Marvin departed this world at Signature Health Care in Algood, TN on Sunday August 23, 2015 at 6:20 p.m. He was an employee with Cummins Filtration (Fleetguard) from 1959 to his retirement in 1995 and held a variety of management positions in manufacturing. Marvin was saved and united with Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in Macon County in 1985 and was licensed to preach in 2005. He was born October 19, 1940 in Jennings County, Indiana to the late Stanely and Jenny Frances Darin Hendricks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Amy Elizabeth Hendricks; step-mother, Marguerite Hendricks; and two brothers, Paul Hendricks and John Hendricks. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Melanie Jane Parkes Hendricks (whom he married February 24, 1979 in Cookeville); three daughters and a son-in-law, Kim and Dennis McCants of Monterey, Karen Heckmann of Rickman, TN, and Amanda Hendricks of Cookeville; son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Sherrie Hendricks of Cookeville; four grandsons, John and Kristin Short, Josh Rhoten, Ian Heckmann, and Davis Hendricks, two granddaughters, Reagan Hendricks and Caitlin Clouse, and two great grandsons, Ben and Sam Short. Pallbearers will be John Short, Josh Rhoten, Ian Heckmann, Davis Hendricks, Dallas Edwards and PJ Heady. Marvin's family wishes to thank the "G" wing staff at Signature Health Care Center.
