Marvin Goodpasture

Marvin R. Goodpasture, age 87 of Cookeville, passed away in his home with his family surrounding him on July 19, 2022. Marvin was born July 2, 1935 in Tipton, Oklahoma to his parents, Robert Lee Goodpasture and Sammye McCormick Goodpasture. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Lori Goodpasture. Marvin is survived by his dear wife, Patricia Small Goodpasture; a son, Shawn Goodpasture; a grandson, Max Goodpasture; and a brother, Bill Goodpasture, all of Cookeville. He was married to the love of his life, Patricia Ann Small of Valdosta, Georgia, for over 58 years. Their acquaintance began while Pat was working at Channel 5-CBS TV in Nashville. Marvin graduated from Celina High School and from Tennessee Tech. He was a veteran, having served in the US Army. He later enjoyed a long career with Cain-Sloan Co. in Nashville. He served a number of years with the Walmart Corporation in various cities in Tennessee and New Hampshire. Marvin became a Christian while in high school and was a member of Celina Church of Christ. At his death, he was a long-time member of Willow Avenue Church of Christ in Cookeville. He served faithfully during his life as a deacon with the Bellevue Church of Christ in Nashville and with the Harpeth Hills Church of Christ in Brentwood. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Good Hope Cemetery in Livingston. Bro. Clarence DeLoach will officiate.
