BAXTER-Funeral services for Marty Dale Vinson, 62 of Cookeville, formerly of Baxter, will be Sunday, May 22 at 2 P.M. from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Smellage Memory Gardens in the Boma Community of Putnam County. He passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 at his home. He was born October 7, 1953 in Carthage, TN to the late Garrett Sadler Vinson, Sr. and Martha Sue Sullins Vinson Minton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by step-father Clarence Joyce Minton, sister Wanda Carol Corbin, grandparents: Garrett Sadler Vinson, Sr. and Hatha Burgess Vinson and Sam and Hattie Russell Sullins. He was a retired concrete finisher. Survivors include wife Ruth Daniels Vinson of Cookeville, daughter Kim Hammock of Cookeville, step-daughters Lynn (David) Littrell, Kathy James all of Cookeville, Lisa (Nick) Alsop of Little Rock, Arkansas, step-son Kenneth (Donia) Daniels of Cookeville, 3 sisters Darlene (Rick) Wheeler, Vicky Braswell, Rita (Rick) Clouse all of Cookeville, several nieces, nephews and cousins, special caregiver Danetta Koger, special friend Larry McDonald. Special thanks to Quality Private Duty Care. Marty's family will receive friends Saturday from 4 to 8 PM and Sunday after 10 AM at the funeral home. Bro. Herb Leftwich will officiate.
