Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Beyl Horne of Cookeville will be held Saturday December 17 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Rev. T.J. Bennett will officiate. Mrs. Horne was called home by our Heavenly Father December 15, 2011, on her 91st birthday. She was known and loved by many as "Granny Horne."� She and her husband were among the five founding families of Park View Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and was influential in the lives of many of the youth of Cookeville. Mrs. Horne worked as an administrative assistant with the medical offices of Dr. Sam Barnes, Dr. Jere Lowe, and Dr. William Francis. She was preceded in death by her father Clarence Richard Beyl, mother, Sara Katherine Baxter Beyl Lumpkins, and William "Uncle"� Bill Lumpkins; her husband of 59 years, Thurman Ray Horne (who died April 14, 1999); brother, Jack Beyl; and three sisters Katherine Hinton, Jean Applegate, and Barbara Webber. Mrs. Horne is survived by her daughters, Susan (Jere) Robinson of Crossville, TN, Wynn (Jim) Larkins of Montgomery, AL, and Pamela (Elden) Blevins of Telford, TN; her grandchildren, Scott (Michelle) Robinson, Andrew (Tiffany) Robinson, Stephanie (Rick) Hill, Katherine (Ryan) Healan, Jonathan Blevins, and Mark Blevins; six great children; and her sister, Judy Ates of West Monroe, LA. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Horne"�s family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Her family extends a "heartfelt thanks"� for the loving care provided to "Granny Horne"� by the Management and Staff at Life Care Center of Sparta.
