Mark Samples

Funeral services for James Mark Samples, age 61 of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday April 30 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Nursing honors will be provided by the Tennessee Nurses Honor Guard. His family will receive friends Friday 5 - 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. Mark passed away Tuesday April 26, 2022 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born August 12, 1960 in Chattanooga, TN to the late James F. and Ganelle McClure Samples. Mark graduated from Bradley Central High School in Cleveland, TN. He received a bachelor degree in business marketing from Middle Tennessee State University and later a bachelor degree in nursing from Tennessee State University. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Mark professional career spanned 25 years at Cookeville Regional Medical Center with stints in the emergency room, cardiac catheterization, and cardiovascular surgery unit. Mark was a member of Life Church. He loved fly fishing, motorcycles, and the Atlanta Braves baseball. Always supportive of his family, his hobbies reflected his kids interests. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Brown Samples; sons, Daniel Samples and Tyler Fletcher both of Cookeville; daughters, Emily (Elias) Vaden of Cookeville and Katlyn (Matt) Green of Greeneville, TN; grandson, Judah Green; brothers, Greg Samples and David (Bekki) Samples both of Cleveland; nephews, Garrett (Katlyn) Samples, Jacob (McKenzie) Samples, Alex Samples; and nieces, Victoria (Chase) Skiba, Anna Samples.
