Mark Nelson

Funeral services for Mark Douglas Nelson, 55, of Cookeville will be Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 1 p.m. from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Moore will officiate. Private family burial will be in Algood City Cemetery at a later date. Mr. Nelson was born September 4, 1959 in Cookeville to the late Milo and Clara Laycock Nelson. He died Friday, January 2, 2015 at his brother's home. He worked for many years as a baker and cake decorator at Bi-Lo and later at Walmart in Cookeville. He attended Livingston 1st Assembly Church for many years and was currently attending Trinity Assembly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Stewart. He is survived by a brother, Michael (Barbara ) Nelson of Algood, a sister, Linda Faye (M.F.) Haney of Cookeville; nieces, Dawn Harville of Algood and Angela (Ray) Simmons of Sparta, and nephew, Jerry Haney of Algood. The family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 753 Humble, Drive, Cookeville, TN 38501. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 12 until service time at the funeral home
