Marintha Charlene Green

Graveside services for Marintha Charlene Green, age 89 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cookeville City Cemetery. She was born April 10, 1921 in Jackson County TN to the late Billie Allen and Floy Brown Allen. Charlene passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She moved to Cookeville several years ago after spending many years as a bookkeeper for a roofing company and the Coca-Coke Bottling Company. Mrs. Green’s family includes five step-children; Harold Green and his wife Eunice of Florida, Lillian Farris of Nashville, Janice Petty and husband Roy of Portland TN, Lois and husband Penny Pibbs of Nashville, and Edith Purvis and husband Clifton of Dayton OH. She is also survived by one brother, Billie Allen Jr. and wife Nancy of Miamisburg OH; and two sisters, Jessie Mae Crangle of Cookeville and Estelle Bilyeu and husband George of Cookeville. Charlene had a wonderful life and was grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother to a host of children, and will be missed by all her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Green. Bro. Ken Haney will conduct the services.
