Marilyn Richmond

Funeral service for Marilyn Richmond, age 59 of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday December 10 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Marty Gribble will officiate. Interment will follow at Algood Heritage Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time.

Marilyn was born January 20, 1963 in Cookeville. She departed this life December 6, 2022 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Marilyn was educated in the Putnam Co. School System. She worked at Tutco in Cookeville for 36 years. Marilyn was an avid sports lover, she didn’t care whose kids were playing. She would be in the stands to cheer them on! If you knew Marilyn then you knew she loved to eat, and she had to have her 3 meals a day! She was always was ready for the next meal wanting to know where it was coming from. YOU BETTER NOT BE LATE TO A HOLIDAY MEAL AT GRANNY'S HOUSE!!

Marilyn will be missed dearly, most importantly by her mother. Who would be sitting in the living room waiting for her to come home from work.

She leaves to cherish her memories her parents, Leroy and Hilda Gist of Cookeville, who raised and provided for her; her father, Alton Thompson of Detroit, MI; the love of her life, Ralph Richmond and his daughter, Krystal Richmond; her sons, Lybron (Crystal) Paige, Russel McDonald both of Cookeville, Melvin McDonald Jr. of Murfreesboro; her grandchildren, Lycrissa, Bradley, Marcus, Adrian, Breanna; her sisters, Kathy (Bryan) Roberts of Cookeville, Kim and Nicole Thompson both of Detroit, MI; her brothers, Tim Gist of Cookeville, Chris (Kristin) Gist of Crossville, Eric and Brian Thompson both of Detroit, MI; her nieces and nephews, Terrence, Jordon, Ayden, Gabrielle, Abigail, Kaden, Delaney; and a host of aunts, cousins, and friends. She had four partners in crime, Sissy Langford, Linda and Rick Hix, Davida Jones-Wright.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin McDonald Sr.; brothers, Michael, Troy, and Keith; sister, Leslie; and a host of aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins.
