Marilyn Davis

A Catholic Mass for Marilyn Clair Davis, age 79, of Cookeville and formerly of Detroit, MI, will be at 11 a.m. Friday October 5 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with a Rosary Service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation on Friday will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Mrs. Davis passed away Sunday afternoon September 30, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 13, 1939 in Detroit to the late Charles Arthur and Mable May Decaussin. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Catholic Church. She is survived by four sons, Edward Davis of Cookeville, Marvin (Connie) Davis of Buffalo Valley, TN, Eddie (Beth) Davis of Carthage, TN, and Carl Davis of Detroit, MI; four daughters, Veronica (Mike) Helms of Elmwood, TN, Theresa (Alex) Romero of Cookeville, Robin (James) Hawn of Cookeville, and Cindy (Trinity) Phillips of Baxter; sister, Catherine Decaussin of Cookeville; 82 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert "Buckshot" Davis; and sister, Shirley Jokippi. Mrs. Davis' sons and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
