Marie Stout Roberson, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023, at the Life Care Center of Sparta. Born on June 26, 1935, in Putnam County, TN, Marie was a cherished member of her community and a beloved figure in her family.
Marie was the daughter of the late James Arthur Stout and Pietta Worley Stout. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 42 years James Hollis Roberson and two brothers,, Earl and Ray Stout, and an infant sister. She is survived by her two devoted sons, James Perry Roberson (Suzette) and Tim Roberson (Denise). She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love, kindness, and optimism will continue to inspire those who knew her and will be passed down through the generations of her family
Marie spent her professional life serving the community as a food service worker at Sycamore Elementary School. Her dedication to her work was evident in the care she took to ensure that every child was well-fed and cared for. Her warm smile and kind words made the cafeteria a welcoming place for all.
A woman of faith, Marie was a regular attendee at the Praise Cathedral Church of God. She was known for her unwavering optimism, even in the face of adversity. Marie never complained, choosing instead to focus on the positive aspects of life.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday October 11 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Eric Vickers will officiate. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery in Rickman. Her family will welcome friends Tuesday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time.
