A celebration of life service for Mrs. Marie Irene Pearson will be held Friday, August 9th at 5:00 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Dr. Charles McCaskey and Rev. Albert Willis will officiate. Her family will receive friends Friday from 3:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Marie passed away Tuesday morning, August 6, 2019 at her residence. She was born February 20, 1947 in Somerville, NJ to the late Irvin and Irene Druther Otto and was a graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School. Marie worked as an administrative assistant in various cities throughout New Jersey for companies including Roche and Johnson & Johnson (where she worked for 20 years). She moved to Cookeville in 1999 and worked at, and attended, First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and as well as with Susan Hogan and American Way Real Estate. Warm and caring, Marie was happy and always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed crocheting, golf, country music and NASCAR and generously shared her delicious Christmas cookies every holiday season. She has attended Algood United Methodist Church for the last few years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Alan Arrowsmith. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, William Pearson; son, Alan Arrowsmith II of Nashville; brother, Irvin Otto of Bayville, NJ; sisters, Joyce Mushlit and Helen (Robert) Myers, both of Pittsburgh, PA; and stepchildren, William (Sharon) Pearson, Jr. of Cookeville and Susan (Stephen) Blest of Allentown, PA; and step grandchildren, Stephanie and Savannah Blest.
