Funeral services for Mrs. Francis Marie Overstreet, aged 83 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, September 10th at 3:00 p.m. at Cookeville First Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Dr. Charles McCaskey will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with service to follow at the church. She died Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was born May 1, 1934 in Smith County, TN to the late Thomas A. Holladay and Flossie Burton Holladay. She was a graduate of Putnam County Senior High School. Hardworking and committed throughout her life, Marie was employed at Mills Linen and First Tennessee Bank as a teller. Following her retirement, Marie became an influential and devoted Nanny to her adopted family. Her godly, pure, and loving nature endeared Marie to everyone she knew. She and her late husband, Jerry, were longtime members of Cookeville First Presbyterian Church. Always supportive of her husband's involvement in Masonic Work, Marie was also a member of the Cookeville Chapter 152 Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jerry Craig Overstreet, and by brother, Tom G. Holladay, who died during military training. She is survived by her adoring adoptive children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Robert Lewis Wilson, Jr., M.D., and Cynthia Wilson of Cookeville; Ashley Arnold Bennett and husband John of Charlotte, NC, Robert Lewis Wilson, III of Lexington, VA, Claudia Wilson Buckner and husband Jacob of Memphis, Elizabeth Grace Wilson of Cookeville, Robert Viera of Wichita, KS and John Viera of Knoxville; and, John Gary "Jack" Bennett and James Gray Bennett. Robert Viera, Davis Watts, Robert Lewis Wilson, Jr., M.D., Robert Lewis Wilson, III, Jason Hicks, and Ken Matheney will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Cookeville First Presbyterian Church, 20 N Dixie Avenue, Cookeville, TN 38501.
