Maria Phillips

Maria Phillips Maria Emilie Phillips, 83 of Cookeville died Saturday, March 7 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Maria was born July 17, 1936 in Czechoslovakia to the late Wenzel (Anna) Scherbaum. She worked in the Dietary Department at Cookeville Regional Medical Center for more than 20 years. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Richard Phillips of Cookeville (whom she married April 1, 1959 in Wiesbaten, Germany); two sons, Kurt (Rhonda) Phillips of Hermitage and Gerd Phillips of Ocean Springs, MS; one brother, Peter (Edith) Herrman of Frankfurt, Germany; grandchildren, Oakley (Brandy Nicole) Phillips, Nick Phillips, Justin Phillips and Taylor Phillips. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Martel Naijman. The family has chosen cremation and no services are planned.
