BAXTER-Funeral services for Margaret Ann Jared, 69 of Buffalo Valley, will be Tuesday, March 21 at 2 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Jared Family Cemetery in the Rock Springs Community of Putnam County. Her son, Houston Jared will officiate. Mrs. Jared went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 18, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 13, 1947 in Carthage to the late Howard G. and Lillian Rittenberry Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters Delia Hughes and Dimple Smith, brothers Crow Smith, Bud Smith and Pooster Smith. She attended Smith County High School. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church and the Buffalo Valley Community Center. She loved being with her Lord, reading her Bible, listening to gospel music, cooking and baking. She also loved being with family and friends, especially her best friend, Georgie Howell. Survivors include husband of 49 years David Jared, daughter Marlette Jared Stephens and fiancé David L. Taylor, sons and daughter-in-law Houston and Lana Jared all of Buffalo Valley, Scott Kevin Jared of North Little Rock, Arkansas, sister Tuter Opal Smith and husband Hubert of Carthage, grandchildren: Ty Stephens, Morgan Stephens, Grace Margaret Jared, Madison Jared, Zach, Ben, Ashlan and Austin Jared, sisters-in-law Aileene Smith and Inez Smith and a host of nieces and nephews. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 8PM and after 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
