Margaret Puckett

Funeral services for Margaret "Ann" Puckett, age 87 will be held Friday October 14, 2022 at 11 am in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Ann Marie Beale officiating. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Cemetery .


Her family will receive friends Thursday 5-8 p.m. and again Friday 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.


Mrs. Puckett died Sunday October 9, 2022 at her home in Livonia, MI.


Ann was born March 8, 1935 in Elizabethton, TN to the late James Harry and Cornie Geno Reed Bishop.


She married her late husband of 53 years, Andy Earl Puckett on February 28, 1952.


Ann completed her GED, several correspondence courses, nursing assistant certificate and tax preparer certificate. Her varied career included working as a seamstress, bookkeeper and tax preparer. However, she was most proud of being a homemaker, loving wife and mother. Ann was a fierce protector of her family, the original “Mama Bear” always doing for others. She was a volunteer for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.


She was extremely intelligent and determined. She was a self-taught accomplished singer and musician and sang and played the guitar for the Cumberland Bluegrass Band.


Ann's hobbies included square dancing, reading, gardening, and crafting. She especially enjoyed crocheting afghans for friends and family.


In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Eddie and Kenneth Bishop, and a sister, Brenda Bishop Zaharias.


She is survived by her son, Charles (Sandra) Puckett of Sebring, FL; daughters, Karen (John) Sobutek of Dearborn Heights, MI, and Sharon (Michael) Hughes of Livonia, MI; grandchildren, Michelle (Chris) Meyer of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Jennifer (Matt) Hunter of South Lyon, MI, Corinne (Jeff) Davey of Howell, MI, Jamie (Nick) Scott and Christopher Hughes both of Livonia, MI; great grandchildren, Julia, Cameron, Ryan, Aidan, Tyler, Cali, Isaiah, and Hudson; sister, Marilyn (Craig) Rutherford; brother, Don (Jane) Bishop; and nieces and nephews, Janet, Patti, Kenny Joe, Sheri, Steven Eddie, Chris, Julie, Ray, Barb, Devon.
