Margaret Markum

Funeral services for Margaret Ann Markum, age 91 of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Monday October 18 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Gaw will officiate. Interment will follow at Dodson Branch Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Sunday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Monday from 10 a.m. until service time. Margaret passed away Saturday October 9, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born October 21, 1929 in Detroit, MI to the late Fred and Dimple Allen Lee. Margaret loved her family dearly. They include sons James D, (Susan), David L. (Lea), grandchildren Eric D., Emily S. Markum Perkins, Sarah A., and Seth A. Markum with numerous great grandchildren, nieces & nephews, Marsha, Lynn Ann, Brad, Travis, Brian and Jonathon (deceased) and her sister Marva Lee Brunson of Magdalena NM. Margaret was a devout Christian and a long standing member of the Washington Avenue Baptist Church of Cookeville TN. Nursing was her love and career spanning 40 plus years of care. She worked at hospitals in Michigan as well as Cookeville TN. Margaret was also very proud of our family heritage dating back to the 1600s. Her ancestral memberships included Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Colonial Dames, Daughters of the Battle of 1812 and Daughters of the Confederacy. Her beautiful personality, smile and love of the Lord, people and life will be missed dearly. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
